Drivers will be able to describe their Health & Safety responsibilities and outline the main areas of Health & Safety that they should be aware of on a day-to-day basis. Drivers will also develop a deeper understanding of their exposure to risk when driving and will better understand how to reduce the chances of being involved in an incident. This is achieved through discussions on new legislation, safe driving techniques, and awareness of how their background and upbringing helps to shape their reactions to hazards and attitude to other road users. The course includes: What equipment to carry. Introduction to Health and Safety. Legal responsibilities Specific Health & Safety legislation Driver Risk Awareness: Night driving and reduced visibility Combatting weather conditions Safe Operation of the vehicle Motorway and main road driving Town and City Driving Mountainous/ Hilly terrain and how to optimise fuel efficiency. Ability to anticipate, assess and adapt to risks in traffic
